Our founder
Researcher, strategist and AI entrepreneur
Katy Cherry is a researcher, strategist and AI entrepreneur with 20+ years’ experience in pharmaceuticals, medical affairs and evidence generation. She has led cross-functional teams, shaped evidence strategies and worked with clinicians, regulators and industry partners on high-integrity data and tech.
Our story
HTL began long before the company was founded, in hospital corridors, waiting rooms and late-night searches for answers. When two of Katy’s youngest children were diagnosed with chronic health conditions, she found herself navigating a system she knew well professionally, yet struggling as a parent.
She retold their histories to every new team, chased missing results and watched avoidable delays unfold simply because information wasn’t connected. That experience made the problem impossible to ignore.
Drawing on more than twenty years in pharmaceuticals and medical affairs, Katy set out to build the Patient Insight Engine (PIE), a way to join up data, reveal patterns sooner and support better decisions.
But technology alone wasn’t enough. She saw clinicians and researchers also needed skills, confidence and clarity around AI. HTL was founded in 2023 to bring all of this together: connected insight, responsible innovation and practical training that ensures patients, families and professionals are never left navigating the system alone.
